Public and Private Cloud Design and Integration

CIO Corner

Yes, moving to the cloud will be cheaper, but at what cost? H. A. Services’ private/hybrid cloud has been engineered from the SLA to the hardware, not the other way around. This means we stand behind our SLA’s with “real” penalties in the unlikely event that metrics are not maintained. The SLA must reflect the effect of a service interruption, not the cause.

It’s only a matter of time before all organizations will be on the “cloud.” What exactly does that mean? Cloud computing, or utility computing as it is also called, basically means virtual servers being available over the Internet. It is a way to increase capacity or add capabilities without investing in a new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software.

Let’s delve a little deeper into public or private cloud, and which one is better suited for your organization. A public cloud, or shared cloud, is when a provider like Google or Amazon, makes computing resources such as processing power, storage, or memory, publicly available over the Internet. Public clouds usually run on OSS (open-source software) to facilitate the movement of large amounts of data. This type of cloud appeals to many decision makers as it reduces complexity and long lead times in testing and deploying new products. It is also less expensive in many cases. A private cloud, or internal cloud, is when the network is implemented within a corporate firewall. This is a private product for a company, which allows for greater predictability, control, and security.

H. A. Services helps you weigh the pros and cons of which is the right “cloud” for you. Our integrated cloud approach will assess the objectives and goals of your IT infrastructure and determine the best course of action. We design solutions that will lower your IT costs, improve productive and storage, and minimize risk. Your organization will be running at its full potential and beyond in no time. What are you waiting for??
